001: No free sites or hostees. No fan sites, fanfiction sites, fanlistings, directories or cliques. No scan sites or graphic/wallpaper sites. No commercial sites. No RPG, TCG sites, etc. No forums/ezboards, portals, hosting companies, myspace, etc. Personal domain owners with personal websites and/or blogs only!
002: Websites with pornographic content and/or hateful material will not be listed. Artistic nudity is ok.. I do withhold the right to decline any application that I see as not being fit for the directory. All sites listed must either be in English or have full English translations. Sites on hiatus or "under construction" for more than one week will be removed/ not added. 003: All members must submit a link to an 88x31 banner that can be used to direct link to your sites. If the banner goes down, you will be removed from the directory. Also though, this way you all can keep that banner updated without having to submit new ones every time you make a new one you'd prefer to use. Just override the graphic with a new one and voila! 004: You must be the owner of the site you are submitting, no submitting for friends. By all means, tell them about the directory but do not submit for them yourself.. How would you feel if someone volunteered your bandwidth for you? 005: All sites will be listed with the description requested when you join. No description, no membership. It messes up the format of the site ya know? The description can be a few lines long.. so.. 2-6 sentences. I'd rather it be too long than not long enough. There's nothing worse than a site that submits and all you see for a description is "personal domain". All sites listed here are personal domains. Get creative with your descriptions! 006: This listing is semi-elite. I'm not a nazi. But I'm expecting that if you own a domain that you will put extra effort into it.. more so than say.. someone creating their first website on geocities. And usually, if you're paying to have it every year, you're going to make sure that it looks decent! All layouts featured on your website should be made by you, unless given as gifts. 007: Put your codes up before you submit your application! All sites listed in the directory must have a code up somewhere on the site that links back to http://directory.passionate-eye.org/. Codes must still be visible during short hiatus and construction. And even though the directory will be direct linking to you via 88x31 banners, do not direct link our codes. Right click and "save as" to your own computer. 008: Your site will be posted alphabetically under the letter that your domain begins with even if your site goes by another name. For example, Passionate-Eye.Org is listed under "P". Even if my site went by another name.. say.. "My Passion".. It would still be listed under "P" because that is where the domain itself belongs alphabetically. |
